In Saskatchewan we can see the smoke in the sky from BC and I am over 700 miles away. Then when the wind changes we see the smoke from Manitoba and its so dry here that the leaves are yellow like its fall and the grass is brown.

Saw film on some of our fires out west. Looked like they were using snow making machines to help fight the fires.

 

What's it like around Jasper and Banff this week? Any fires or smoke in the air? A friend of mine is up there this week- on vacation from Texas.

 

A lot of the Jasper area is on fire...I havent personally been there so I cant tell you first hand, but the news reports say that its pretty smoky........I actually seen your post just the other day but figured it was too late to get the fire info. to your buddy. The area around banff should be ok...although there tends to be a lot more tourists around Banff.

Its beautiful country - hopefully he will have a good time anyway.
