If it were mine, you would have a hard time getting it from me. Those trucks are cool and they are getting few and far between. I wouldn't blame you if you didn't sell it. You could do plenty of stuff to that old 318 and still keep it pretty stock looking.

Re:Pics for Dieseldude4x4

If I wanted to get real crazy I could get one of those factory Mopar crate motor's that we sell and put that in there. We got one 360 that puts out about 380hp and 410-420ft.-lbs. Hmmmmmmmmm :

Re:Pics for Dieseldude4x4

I can get all different kinds of hemi's from Mopar performance. We got the 528 Hemi, we got a 426 hemi, we got a 472 hemi, we got two 500 wedge's, we gotta 380hp 360, and a 300hp 360. Their all really nice engines that have got all the latest technology but they are not cheap. The cheapest one is the 300hp 360 and my cost on it is $2,900. I think I'll just have one of my tech's overhaul the 318 it's got in it. :

If I remember right, that would be the old wide block 318 with the two bolt valve cover. They were hard to tear up. You could do all kinds of things to modernize it but it would be basically worthless. May be worth more original. Even though the idea of an old 12 valve set in there would be pretty cool, it would cost some bucks for sure.
I was looking at one of those 380 horse 360's a while back for a duster. That is a killer motor too.

Re:Pics for Dieseldude4x4

OK, ok I got it. I've been racking my brain trying to figure out what to do with this truck. I like the idea of completely overhauling the engine and fully restoring it but I am also a realist. That would cost some major $$$ and with those kind of projects you can usually never get back what you put in. But I would like to do something useful with it because I think it is really neat. I was thinking about what I have to go do tonight, feed some round bales in the cold wind after dark in the big pasture. Both of my tractors(4600 and 5210 JohnDeere's) do not have a cab and it is pretty cold cruising across the pasture on them when it is 20degrees or less out and the wind is blowin hard. It would be nice to have a truck set-up to move bales. So I decided I'm gonna put a good carb on it, fix the brakes, and put a new coat of paint on it. Then I'm gonna weld a hook-up on the rear channel iron bumper for an old round bale fork I made back in high school for a pickup and mount a good stout electric winch over the rear axle and use that to raise the bale fork. And then I'll put a gooseneck ball on it behind the old semi trailer hook-up(I would remove it but it is welded as so it will never be removeable) so I an use it for moving trailers around the farm or for a short road trip if I had to, but mainly it will see farm use. I will keep it parked in the barn so it wont rust away, and it should last awhile for this use. This is the best thing I can think of to use it for that won't cost me a ton, also I might try to get a snowplow set-up for the front or the rear since we have been getting so much of it lately. What do you guys think of my plan? ??? :

I don't like it at all. I think you should sell it to me and get your big horn. ;D ;D

Actually, that is a pretty good plan. I like to see folks restore old stuff like that. The guy in Ontario that I bought my John Deere R model from had restored and old 48 Fargo. Since you are a Dodge dealer, you should know what a Fargo is. I fell in love with that thing as soon as I saw it. He did a beautiful job and installed a custom oak flat bed on it. All it does nowadays is haul people in paredes. It has the original flat head six still.
