We have a little car show every Saturday night and I've seen several of those 96 Impala SS with the LT1.

$6200 was a smokin deal. If you have a picture of it put it up here.

Here it is! I wish it were black, but you can't have everything.

That's nice.

What kind of gas mileage are you averaging. This guy's LT1 I drove was in amazing shape. It was an old detective car and was flawless. He offered to sell it to me but when he said 13-15mpg I said no thanks.

Thanks for putting up the pic.

tbarbee1, it is not for sale, unless the money is right. My price would be way more than what it's actually worth.

drewallen42, the best I've ever gotten is 18 mpg. It would probably be a lot better if I kept my foot out of it. With the 3.08 gears it should get 20+ on a long highway trip at reasonable speeds. If I remember correctly they were EPA rated at 19 city and 26 highway. I just don't drive it enough to really worry about fuel economy.

Thanks for the info. I'm sure that's why he's getting 13-15 because he's on it all the time.

Did you do the intake on it?

I put on the K&N FIPK cold air intake, and it woke the car up quite abit. The stock air intakes were very restictive on those cars. I also have a 2.5" dual cat-back kit on the car. I bought the cheapest exhaust I could find, Heartthrob from JC Whitney $269. It fit good, and doesn't sound bad either. It just has a low rumble.

I just found that thread a few weeks ago. I had to keep reading to see if he was for real.
