Wow ... didn't even know he was sick. Well, I guess we all have to punch our ticket sometime.

He made public his lung cancer in April of this year and he promised ABC news would be keeping us apprised of his treatment progress. Man, he lasted only 5 months. Sad to see him go even though I preferred Tom Brokaw's news casts.

Man getting sick and dying sure sucks. I am sorry to hear that about him.
He was like a fixture, when you think news he is one of the few.
I just had a friend / coworker younger than me die last month from pancratic cancer. She lasted less than 3 months.
Be good to others and live each day to the fullest.
Tomorrow might be your last.
The hardest is on the ones they left behind.
Jim.

Peter Jennings was one of the liberal left media mogals that gave his opinion rather than reporting the news; his liberal biais rather than report facts. His condesending anti war, anti Bush, anti USA troops stance permeated every broadcast he did. Jennings was an anti Semitic muslum sympathiser that attempt to influence US politics, culture, and society. His reports always tried to make the USA feel guilty for our past actions. All this from a CANADIAN reporter that never finished high school who became a US citizen only in the last few years when it suited him, and not our country.

I do not wish his family ill will, and I am sorry for their loss, but historically after someone dies people tend to make them a saint. Like Jane Fonda, Peter Jennings did more harm to this country than I am willing to forgive or forget.

Good God

Yep.... he is the downfall of the country.

The man died... GIVE IT A BREAK!. I now know who not to ask to give “my†eulogy.

He was the one that I personally watched during 9/11. I thought he was pretty good.

Same here.

If I didn't get paid to watch CBS news, I'd watch no news.

No News is Good News.

Peter Jennings was a good man, loved by millions, and trusted by millions. Testament to that is the fact that he was praised by President Bush, Rudy Giuliani, Mayor Bloomberg, just to name a few Republican leaders.

May God bless him and rest his soul.

Gieco266, your post seems condesending to Canadians? (Many good folk on here from up North, they seem alright by me, must be a "republican thing")? Just as people got all treary eyed and sentimental when Johnny passed, seems you've waited for Peter Jennings to die to voice your hatred for him?
Johnny beat his wife in front of a crowded party, yet Jay Leno (jerk) acted like he was some kind of hero right after he was GONE.

I agree, his political agendas should not be the focus of this thread. God Bless his family.

I think the point that Geico was making was that Peter Jennings had political agendas and wasn't a neutral voice. That aside {I didn't care for his spin on things either}, my condolences go out to his family.

We all know that, still showing some respect is the RIGHT thing to do
