PDA Questions
So I know there was a thread on here some were about this but for the life of me cannot find it. I am looking at getting a new PDA as my new job at work I am needing to manage contacts more and all that good stuff that goes with management and the old Rolodex just aint cutting it with my horrid hand writing. I am looking at getting the Palm T|X handheld if you all know about it or any thing else that has a good phone book and can access our wireless in my office for emailing and so forth.
Thanks Jason

I have a palm treo w/ windows mobile on it that I use for my daily cell phone and work. It syncs my work email and all my contacts, calendar, etc wirelessly all the time via "goodlink." It's nice when I'm off site or after a long weekend, because I can see my email at home and look at the calendar to remember what's going on for monday! It's also alot easier than carrying several devices around with you! Hope this helps out some.

A crackberry type phone offers more options, plus its your phone.
I would go with something like that rather than a dedicated PDA to carry around in addition to your laptop, cellphone and others.
I like the Nokia N70 or N75 myself.

Well I don't have to pack a laptop thank gosh so thats why I was wondering about straight up pda because only thing I have is my cell phone and its on my hip out of the way and the pda I would just keep in my desk or in my brief case.
then why not combine the two and only have one item to carry around?
I on the other hand carry a backpack full of stuff. Laptop, Ipod, external hdd, camera, two phones, various thumb drives, plug adapters, calculators, etc.
My backpack weighs in at about 20 pounds.

I would but I don't think my carrier has a phone like what you mentioned and I don't know if I got a phone that was unlocked gms if it would work with my Motorola razor sim card.

The only company that I have heard about problems out of is Verizon.
Im with AT&T/Cingular and haven't had any problems using my sim card in unlocked phone purchased internationally.
I dont think that you will have any problems (but $600 is a lot of money to find out)

Jason I have a blackberry that works well its through ATT it syncs with my MS outlook and keeps the contacts current. I hated it at first its kinda like talking into a calculator as its larger than my old razor let us know what you choose.
I have the Palm Treo-wx, am on Verizon network. I really like it. It has streamlined a lot of processes. I use the phone side with an earbud, that is just a great hand-free option. I use it for my contacts information, in sync with my laptop, great for scheduling and e-mails. I do lecturing so the Power Point is truly nice to have, I can take the Palm and plug into projection. Less junk to carry in the overall. It is like talking into a calculator when not using the earbud, but really not much larger than any other cell phone, lightweight but packs a bunch of great features into one device. I used to have just a Dell PDA for all my contact stuff but I will never go back to having more than one device, this all-in-one stuff is GREAT. By the way, your carrier might offer it as an upgrade, my Palm cost me $350 through Verizon Wireless, then I got a $150 cash rebate via the mail, so bottom line $200. I waited to purchase it, watched for the special deal, it comes up every couple months.

I carried a Palm for years. Great unit that took a lot of abuse. The last one I got was an HP. It's OK but I wish I had stuck with a PALM or a Garmin M5. Which is PALM technology in a GPS. Just my .03
I forgot to mention that my Palm also has the GPS functions and full NAV programming. Lots of good software for it as well. I have some nice business related software but I also have some great games for those special moments when I just need a break and momentary change.

I have a Palm IIIc that I have used almost daily for the past seven years and has been very good to me. It stays in my daytimer so it is well protected. I don't think they build them like they used to but the Palm TX is a good choice. The company I work for is thinking about replacing our phones with the Treo.
