Re:Other Sites vs. DTR

I do have to agree that this site is very well run (except for the jaunt with all 3 brands...just kidding just kidding..) I drove and worked for Ferd for years so was always at the Ferd boards. I changed my sig and have been called a troll the last 3 posts there. Forget it. If I have a lousy day then I cruise over there, read the first page of re-flash this and leaking that, come here read the posts about small stuff going wrong (chimes etc) and feel much better. I am/was on many boards and this ranks up there. Even with Hoss here....
Now what's this about shirts???? ;D
Shane, is this the site that you came from when I first started this one?!

on edit, I know which one you're talking about. The owner of that site and I don't get along. Trust me. He sent an email to my Mom one time when he was the admin for the TDR and I was not happy. Apparently she had a virus, and he insulted her because of it so I reamed him publicly on the TDR. Anyways, enough of that. Sorry

No, Jack, it wasn't THAT one if that's the one you're thinking about. I never had any problems over there, but I haven't been there in a long time either. I pretty much quit going there when this forum got up and going good (and when they cut off my access to it from work). This was another Ford truck enthusiast forum.

Hoss - that was a little shady on their part. Insecurities over there or what! >
Yeah, I agree. To his credit, the guy did have the courtesy to send me an e-mail telling me that he had edited it and why. He said it was a bandwith issue and they only allowed Fords to be shown in signatures. Oh well.... :

Hoss you should have informed them that the Dodge/Cummins only has more power not more pixels.

Wish I would have thought of that when he changed mine the first time. I thought it was pretty bad when I just put
94 Dodge 4x4 5spdwith extra fuel
and he got all upset. Then I changed it to
A truck not a ford not stock
Thats when I got the boot. :-
funny part it I actually had a lot of Ford questions for buddys of mine. I would say that if you own a Ford ranger or truck it is a good site because it covers so many cars that Ford made.

Re:Other Sites vs. DTR

It amazes me when I see how insecure some people are about what they drive.
Brand preference is like a belly button ... we all got em and even though they may be somewhat different ... it's nothing to get all worked up about. (sounds like a Forrest Gump quote, huh ?)

I'm just really glad that everyone here gets along.

Ummmm..... :- ......what if, say, for instance....someone (not me of course)....a friend...yeah, a friend...doesn't have a belly button? Does that make them a freak?? :-

Back on topic, I went back and changed my signature to show my Dodge in this manner:

'03 1 Ton, 2WD, CC, SB, Diesel, 3.73 LS, 6 Spd

I then e-mailed the admin that edited me the first time and asked him to check it and see if it's acceptable. If he stays consistent with the bandwidth thing he'll say no. If it truely is that they just don't want anything other than Fords listed then he should be okay with it. We'll see I guess.... :

Re:Other Sites vs. DTR

I have learned so much about my Dodge/Cummins here. I scan the other Cummins sites on occasion and even the other brand sites when I need some humor. Great site! Great Job! All of the hard work is greatly appreciated.

Quick little side note—I usually run my posts through Word spell check---just learned that “Cummins” is the only brand that is a part of spell check. The others aren’t included. Cool. 8)

Just wanted to take a minute to remind everyone about what a great site this is and what great folks we've got running it.

Being a fan of both Ford and Dodge trucks, I frequently visit a Ford truck enthusiast site that I will not name. My signature used to list my current truck along with the last two Fords I have owned. Last night my signature was edited by one of the moderators to show ONLY the Ford trucks. They apparently didn't want me advertising my Dodge.

Anyway, no big deal, but just a reminder to me what a great place this is. Hope everyone sticks around, has some fun and learns a lot for years to come.

Y'all take care.

I too am a Dodge/Ford guy,I would be happy with either.
And Hoss is correct, this is one great site.

It's a shame these things happen all the time.
But that's the way it is in life I guess.
It happens like that on most all sites.
