Open trailer floor...help

I have an open trailer that needs a new floor. Does anyone know the trick to replacing the floor without cutting the angle iron that holds the floor in place? I know it is possible to replace the floor without cutting anything. Any help would be great.

Thanks.

depending on the length of the trailer you might be able to put one end of the board under the angle at the front try to bow the board in the center thus shortening the total length of the board and then tucking the board under the angle at the tail end. A really short trailer would be tough to do but a longer one might allow enough bow in the wood to make it work.
Maybe put a jack under the trailer at the midpoint of the board, fasten something across the rear of the trailer over the board to hold that end down while jacking up the center. Once the board has pulled beyond the edge of the angle iron use a pry bar to push the board below the angle and have a helper slowly lower the jack.
Now this is all untested theory since I have not tried it but that's what comes to mind. If you try it and it works let me know cause I need to replace the wood on my 16' trailer.

Once you remove the screws holding the boards, you should have enough slack to push a board all the way to one side and then clear the hold down angle at the other side. Thats a least how mine was when I replaced the flooring.

Mine is channel instead of angle but I put in the outside boards by installing them at an angle and then straightening them in the channel. I cut the center boards to get them in but have seen ones where you could bow them enough to get them in w/o cutting.

Hello everyone. I used a hydraulic jack, and jacked up the middle...worked like a charm no cutting of the channel, or anything.

thanks, Tony
