He can tell you that too, but then he'd have to kill you. No wait, that's what would happen anyway. But if he told you that, THEN he'd have to kill you. Right before he killed you. Anyway.

There.

Speaking of snow, the other day I had to go to San Diego, and when we crossed the mountain range, it snowed on us. I don't mean a little bit, there was about 3 inches on the road... killer.

Evenin. Went for a run, played with the bike. Not much more.

Talking

Cougar, what services were rendered and since when did guys pay for that opportunity? you know i can't ignore that statement.

Rick, so glad you have friends. better than hair. sometimes. PM me your address again if you want a chocolate cop's badge. so much fun. better stuff from Buffalo too.

All the Way Tim! 1978 all american here.....

ofcmarc- sheesh. it's 20 here and snowed till almost dark. then the cruel sun came out just in time to set. pretty bad when we have worse weather than fairbanks...

yippeee. steel comes tomorrow, hope the truck driver can drive (back up on a curve). I am not feeling happy about off loading in the freezing rain/sleet that is forecast. hoping I can bullpoop him into another drop off site....to my advantage.

spent all day with our son, good times. only to have him call about a half hour ago looking for his car key. seems hubby had it in his pants pocket. what the heck he had it for is a mystery to me. son works afternoons, shops after work so this is normal time for him. phone calls after 12AM (when you don't work) cannot be good news.

breakroom has been mopped, flopped, some things stopped or dropped, so feel free to chew your phoo. since I am now awake, I will take straight No 2 fuel.

Mornin' all.

MUCH better weather in the Nation's Capital this AM.
40s for a start then SW breezes and heading for the mid 60s later.

Getting a new work truck tomorrow.
Swapping my beat-to-death 1996 Chevy Van for a new Chevy Silverado Hybrid Pickup.
Not sure how that's going to work out.
Anyone driven one yet?

Coffee's ready.......................

You didn't make it strong enough Bob, the spoon won't stand up in it.

Morning all.

Today is Wednesday, April 6th.

On this day in 1830 - Relations between the Texans and Mexico reached a new low when Mexico would not allow further emigration into Texas by settlers from the U.S.

1862 - The American Civil War Battle of Shiloh began in Tennessee.

1865 - At the Battle of Sayler's Creek, a third of Lee's army was cut off by Union troops pursuing him to Appomattox.

1875 - Alexander Graham Bell was granted a patent for the multiple telegraph, which sent two signals at the same time.

1917 - The U.S. Congress approved a declaration of war on Germany and entered World War I on the Allied side.

1938 - The United States recognized the German conquest of Austria.

1941 - German forces invaded Greece and Yugoslavia.

1965 - U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson authorized the use of ground troops in combat operations in Vietnam.

1967 - In South Vietnam, 1,500 Viet Cong attacked Quangtri and freed 200 prisoners.

1983 - The U.S. Veteran's Administration announced it would give free medical care for conditions traceable to radiation exposure to more than 220,000 veterans who participated in nuclear tests from 1945 to 1962.

1987 - The Dow Jones industrial average closed above 2,400 for the first time.

1998 - The Dow Jones industrial average closed above 9,000 points for the first time.

1998 - Federal researchers in the U.S. announced that daily tamoxifen pills could cut breast cancer risk among high-risk women.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
It doesn't take a very big person to carry a grudge.

Bostons Children's Hospital is truly the best, a morning full of testings then a sit down with one of the youngest, sharpest doctors I have ever met. They ruled out completely what other doctors have been attempting to treat her for and found the underlying condition that was causing all the issues. She is going to be fine with no lingering effects. Thank you Jesus!!

On a side note, trying to park a qclb truck in a 6' parking garage does not work so with a phone call we parked at 37 Engines house and they graciously gave my grand daughter, (and us) a ride to the front door. Made her day.

Same here Bob. After all was done we had a handful of homes damaged from falling trees, no injuries. Georgia on the other hand didn't fair as well, 6 fatalities.

Good news Tim!!!

Morning.

You would expect anything less? Those of us east of Worcester are pretty accommodating!

Great news about your grand daughter!

Man, both of those paragraphs are the best news I've heard in weeks. You made my morning, brother, and I bet your year has been made. I'm very happy for you.

Yeah. Some butthole here made the coffee so strong that I flinched when I took the first sip. And the second. And the third...

And, I'm gonna wear more cold weather gear this morning on the way to work, and use some sun screen. I forgot that were three feet from hell or the face of the sun, whichever way you look at it. (after I just said I need more cold weather gear...)

Bout to get on the two wheels of death and go to work. Last day of the BRC, then I get my real license and my permanent decal. Good times.
