Not quite a CTD

I just started a new job as a mechanic at an international dealer , they sell kubota too , and one of our service trucks is a 1996 ( or 97 , mid 96 build date) dodge ram 2500 , 4x4 , ext cab , auto , but it has a V10 in it. I have no idea what the theory behind it was. but it gets TERRABLE fuel milage to put it lightly.

With the price of gas up here in canuck land , it costs roughly $130 to fill , and gets 250-300 KMS to a tank , that is insane! dad's CTD costs the same to fill , and we regularly get 1000 kms to a tank , highway or city , or both.

I haven't sat down and done the math , but that's got to be like 5 mpg , empty!

My last full size pickup, a 1974 Ford F250, got 8mpg, comparible since it was only a V8.
This was 20 years ago when gas was a bit cheaper.
And before I got married and had kids, ya know, back when I had cash just flowing out of my pockets.

Know that feeling friend.... I walk bent over all the time.... just looking for any dropped change to pick up..... It is amazing how much a wife and kids take out of the playing budget

Luckily I got rid of one of them a couple years back.

Now I just pick up dimes or larger, no pennies or nickles for me.
