Question New truck prices.

Ive bought a couple new vehicles and both have been off the lot. Im wondering if you ordered one can you get the same deal as "on the lot" trucks. Im not looking, just wondering. I got great deals on my vehicles with the options I wanted. Just curious.

I have always bought 'off the lot' until this truck. The Mega was a factory order, and I had already done the deal on a 'lot' truck and then wanted some other goodies and color and such. Same deal (plus changes) and factory ordered. The lease rate dropped by time mine arrived and they actually offered me the lower lease rate when I picked it up. I of course accepted the offer!

I went to Vehix.com and Edmunds.com priced the vehicle that I wanted with the specific options that I wanted.

Then I went to Dodge.com and looked up the specific vehicle in their inventory and found one on a dealers lot close to me. I went to the dealer and showed him his stock # and said, "bring this vehicle to me".

I then showed him the Vehix and Edmunds pricing for the same vehicle

I told him that he could deal with me now or they'll deliver the same vehicle to my door Monday morning!! Take your pick.

The issue now is if you order you'll have to order an '07 and pay considerably more than you would for an '06 off the lot . Another post mentioned $4,000 incentives for '06's and $3500 for '07's . As a rule you can get at least $6,000 of the MSRP on trucks of the lot . Several posters claimed paying less than $35,000 for a truck with an MSRP of $43,000 or more .

I ordered my 07 for 250 under invoice plus all rebates. They told me they wouldnt sell the same truck to me that they had on the lot for the same price. Always better to order.

Ditto for me through Dave Smith Motors. My discount was more but after transporting it down here to San Diego,I'm still paying considerably under invoice-incentives. P.S. My buddy on the Big Island is saving a huge amount of money vs. local dealer even with $1400 tacked on for delivery. DSM is the Big Island's biggest dealer. When you special order,it's considered a "sold" vehicle, thus incurring no "floor overhead" for the dealer. Great deals abound nationwide, however,on leftover '06's.
