Question New Body Style Jeep Grand Cherokee's

Just wondering if anyone else has one. My girlfriends older Grand Cherokee's transmission is going out and before it completly does she want's to be able to trade it in for a decent price.
Do the new V-8 models have any major issues? What do you actually get for MPG compared to what it says they get on the window sticker? Any options she should make sure to have?
Thanks for the info

while not the grand cherokee, bought my wife a new jeep patriot this summer and after about 12,000 miles, many days of sub- zero weather, many feet of snow, and two road trips it's been awesome! all that, 4wd, available with a stick, and 30 mpg!

I think they are ugly but the wife had to have one its just the v6 motor and I think it gets alittle over 20 mph it only has about 3000 miles though. I never drive or let alone get in it so I couldnt tell you own upgrades but there are nice.

One place you can read up on them is at jeepsunlimited.com. If she goes for a v8, try to get the selec-trac instead of quadra-trac. It'll give you 2wd, 4wd, awd, and low. I like the body style, I'd rather they didn't lower the ride height though.

I decided to keep my 1994.

I drove a new Limited and yeah, its nice and comfy, but I can't see out of the stupid thing. It drives like a car and is just too cramped feeling inside.

I passed on it and decided that 130000 miles isn't that many!

Go drive 'em see what you think. They're nice, just not for me. The four door Wrangler on the other hand was more my style, but Im not paying $26k for a dumb Jeep. It did ride and drive pretty dang nice though and I liked it a whole lot better, just not the price tag. They don't bargain on those either.

Well, good luck in your search.

Have a good one.
