My avatar since that day has remained the same.
That same image in a 8" sticker is on the rear window of all of my vehicles including my work truck.
Many of the "troops" on the base where I work were instantly faced with the reality that the had indeed joined the Military, and were not just GS office drones in matching suits.......
Most have reverted back to their "drone" existence in the last 9 years.
I remember the seeing the Pentagon in flames and smoke rising to the sky from my office window across the Potomac River.

I will never forget.

I was reading the breaking news on the internet in Mexico when I heard about the first plane. Something sounded fishy to me so turned on the TV and also started to dig around in other news sites. Quickly figured out something was not right and just knew that history was being made, so went and woke up my wife and step daughter and had them watch TV where they saw the second plane hit. All of us were very somber watching this surreal scene. Have never forgotten it and never will.

I'm watching the History channel now. I'm getting bent way out of shape here.

I can remember this like it was this morning. Where I was, what I was doing, what I said.

One minute I am mad as hell, the next sad. Hoping I can stay sane until I go to sleep. Spent last night wide awake. I have never slept on 9/11 and the entire week is maybe a few hours total every year. No sleep, but not even tired at all. Wide awake! Adrenaline. I don't smoke and rarely drink, but I could take both up about now..............

We should burn em all down where they stand. Peaceful religion my foot.

I was in my office getting ready to go get things done. Turned the tv on and the first had just hit.
I said this is terroism. Then the second one appeared.

Anything anyone needs to know and understand about islam happened 9-11.

I was more upset watching this than I actually was in 2001.
mostly because of our rules of war won't allow us to be as effective as we should be.
