I have a freind with a 4wd Dakota that I balive is an 01. His front end has started leaking. He doesent want to have to take it in so he was asking me if i knew anything abought them. i have never had one apart before and wanted to find a diagram online so I knw what to expect. I have been serching but havent found anything yet. Does anyone know where I can find a digram of it? Has anyone had one apart that can give me a heads up on what to expect. From what I could see with a flash light last nite it apeares that it is leaking from around the passenger side out put shaft. Is the seal rite at the end of the aluminume housing or is it back in farther? Does the drive shaft pull out without having to open the diff or is there a retaining devise inside the diff? Any help would be great.
