Not on the law, just stealing money from tourists (not flaming just venting). I have been to border towns (ciudad acuna) many times. If you look drunk the federalies will take all of your money, but you have to be obviously druck (falling in the street). My buddie got every bit of cash taken from him, but not his camera. Another time I went my MEXICAN friend got beat by the federalies and taken to an ATM because he didn't have enough cash to pay them off...Plus they were going to legalize all drugs in small amounts because the police are too corrupt to get the big dealers, they just arrest people with small amounts so the mexican jails are overrun with inmates that posess stuff the cops sold them...

SO thats why they are not as strict.

(please don't take anything I said as political, just trying to inform of why mexico is the way it is. at least border towns)

I have had a second home in Mexico for 20 years. Please do not judge Mexico and Mexicans by what you see in the border towns. Once you get away from the border you will find Mexico to be a beautiful country full of beautiful people with a rich cultural heritage.
And #2 is only ~ $1.80 US a gallon.

As long as Mexicans aren't judging america by the border towns also.

I have a buddy that has grandparents and other relatives that live in Mexico. He loves it there.

Big Spring is only an hour or 2 away. He is more Native American (can't remember which one right now) but he might have some German heritage. And he drives a gas Dodge.

Wow that's pretty interesting. If you don't mind me asking, 12valve and other non-hispanics living in Mexico, what do you do down there? Farming/Ranching? You said there are many Germans in your town, Is that sort of like top producing farmers from the american midwest setting up operations in Brazil?

Hmmm. Last time I checked, 70+3 was 73 and 65+3 was 68. How can you add 3 to each and get 75?

I've driven across many states many-a-times; Texas is by-far the WORST when it comes to bored troopers looking to bust some *****. I was on the highway in the middle of 2 cities (read: farmland for miles on either side), I got pulled over by a cop for doing 75 in a 70, the worst thing is the cop TURNED AROUND to come back after me! He was going the other way! Only got a warning, but still, why even waste your time and mine?

Between Wichita Falls and Abilene, saw 3 people pulled over. Coming up 277N off of I-10 I got pulled over at "sundown" for doing 71 in a 65, when in my opinion, it was still a 70 MPH zone because it was still light out.

Ain't even worth speeding in Texas, they suck. And it really sucks b/c it's the biggest state to drive across too, and the most BORING!
