I don't live there but we have family in Longmont which is just a few miles away. Greeley seemed like a friendly, clean, rural town when we visited. Mostly farming around the area. Not far from Denver or Boulder if you need more excitement.

Ive not been to Greely but its in Colorado so it better than here. My mom used to live in Colorado till abought 3 years ago when she moved to Hull. She lived there for abought 22 years so I know the area from Denver south and west well but not north. I asume from your coment that you enjoy this incredibly boring corner of the world. I dont know why because there is NOTHING here. Greely is close enough to Denver and such that I would asume its more suberban than here but again i have not been there so it may very well be more rural like here. I dont mind the rural aspect of iowa but the lack of ANYTHING to do is draining the life outa me. I would kill to have teh mountains in my back yard like Greely. I LOVE offroading in the back country of Colorado. I go there almost every year with the ATVs so I can justify owning them.

Whats in Greely??

Do a search for GAM, or Greeley Auto Machine. Bruce Yackey owns and runs a really nice machine shop there and is diesel oriented. He also has a nice chassis dyno and has hosted several truck dyno events. Good guy. Pretty good hot rod diesel contingent around.

Greeley is a rural town but close enough to Denver that you can go see the Rockies or the Broncos with an hour drive. It is away from the foot of the mountains and out toward the plains a little more, but mountains, Rocky Mountain National Park, fishing and national forests are only an hour or so away. Pretty good place to go west, young man, as Horace Greeley said. It is also a college town. Good luck!

Well you are definitely gonna get a change of scenery!!!!

The rockies are absolutely spectacular from greeley. I grew up in Denver. Colorado is Dry compared to Iowa, get ready to dry out. You will also be at elevation, which means the sun is much more intense. I am not a big sunscreen guy, I just wear a hat and long sleeves. There is a limitless number and kind of things to do to get away and go have fun. Greeley is a great little town (not all that little anymore). that area really grew up in the early and mid 90's. I probably did 500 appraisals out there. The housing crash did center punch much if not all of Colorado. But all in all if I were to move back to the front range, greeley would be on my short list.
