Mexstan and Scotty
Anybody know if Mexstan is sick or something? He hasn't [said much] all day. I'm kinda worried about him.
And did Scotty ever get that truck? Just seeing a Yugo makes me shiver.

I've actually got his truck here, but haven't told him yet. Been using it to clean cattle pens and haul bales.
Its got that new cow, errrrr, car smell that everyone loves.

Re:Mexstan and Scotty
I think Mexstan has been busy off loading '04 Mexican manufactured Heavy Duty Rams from a train in Mexico that went off the tracks because of severe rains. He said something about a nice black one that got thrown into the red mud up to its windshield. Actually he said "it was nice" and then something about "looks like this one was headed for Canada".
I believe Scotty was spotted at Auto Zone trying to decide what color pin striping and what shape air freshener (the peace symbol or pine tree, rough choice) to get for the Yugo.

Thanks for the concern for my well being. I am truly touched. On second thoughts, is that really concern for my well being, or is it thinly veiled sarcasm? No wait, this is DTR, there is never any sarcasm on this site. Right?
For an explanation (as if anybody is interested) as to what I have been so busy with yesterday. I was trying to see how deep I could get my truck buried in the mud and how many Mexicans and tow vehicles it would take to get me out. For the record, a Cheby 2WD and 5 guys did not cut it. A Ferd 4X4 Explorer, a jack, some 3x3's, removal of the barbed wire fence I was almost touching and about 10 guys after around two hours got my truck unstuck. As soon as I have finished this post I am heading down to pressure wash the mud out of the wheels etc. Even the rear pumpkin has mud and grass stuck to it up to about a third of the way up.
Just in case any of you are still reading and want to read more, let me continue with how life is different here.
There were two pickups heading to some property I have here and where I have a crew working. The other pickup got stuck and in trying to go around it I slid into some really soft mud and buried the truck. We eventually got truck #1 unstuck which had on it the lunch for the crew. While we were working to unstick my truck the woman driving truck #1 was busy firing up the propane tortilla heater, heating the beans etc. So once we got my truck out, we washed up in the streams flowing down each side of the track we were on and had lunch (4 P.M.) in the middle of the road. These streams are not normally there and result from all the rain we have had over the last week or so.
Last week we had a party in the middle of the same dirt road with about 15 Mexicans having a ball. (The reason for this party is a long and very different story. Some other time maybe.) There was a gas BBQ a wood mini stove and other assorted cooking things. Home made corn tortillas were pressed right there. One guy brought 8 kilos of steaks. There were also enchillad's, beans of course, two gallons of 'pulque", tequila and various other drinks. Stacks of mole covered chicken. Mole is an interesting sauce. It has about 20 ingrediants. Around three kinds of chili, and often a type of chocolate as well. It is normally served cooked with steak, chicken or other meats. Pulque is a drink made from the large cactus. It is a very healthy drink but has a high alcohol content. So three hours later some of these Mexican's went away very happy, stuffed and staggering down the road. This is just a brief summary as to how VERY different life can be down here compared to up north. Hey, just remembered, while all this was going on we even had sheep and goats wondering around. Not sure if the sheep were 'virgin' or not. Never saw any blue sheep. Maybe they are restricted to a certain part of Canada. Even a guy on a burro stopped to help and joined the party later.
So, there you have short, very abbreviated story of what sometimes keeps me busy lately.

There might be a touch of sarcasm, sometimes, but not in this case. Some of us have become accustomed (or perhaps addicted) to your daily thought-provoking rhetorical question and actually notice when it and you appear to be missing without explanation.
Closest I've ever seen someone to being as stuck as you're describing was in a former hog lot. That took a tractor and a very long chain to resolve.
