Magazine Articles

From the throne room:

Finally got around to reading my new issue of "Dirt Rider" and they have an article on the new Dodge Ram 3500 Cummins. They chose it over the competition to haul their toys around in to get them to the testing areas. They got a SRW Q/C (2WD by the looks of it) and gave it a good review/write up in the article. This is a dirt motorcycle magazine so they did not go into too many specifics about the truck, but the bottom line is they are very happy with their decision.

The lastest "Car and Driver" has a story about "Diesels at Indy". Have not read the whole thing yet, but it is about Clessie Cummins driving diesel race cars in the 1930's. Looks interesting. One good quote from the author goes something like this: "at first thought, the idea of racing a diesel is like putting Kathy Bates in a bikini"

Just some FYI for ya'll.

Re:Magazine Articles

I was on this other board a while back when somebody posted that a certain diesel shop's truck just dyno'd something like 700hp/1400lbft and ran a 12 something quarter

some dude comes on and says that racing diesels is about the stupidest thing he ever heard of and he knows cause he's got a CTD and he knows how much of a slug it is

guy post's back .........so what part of a 7000lb truck running 12 seconds in the quarter is not fast

it was pretty good ...........you kind of had to be there

I sorta figger mine may not be the quickest off the line - but it'll scoot on down the road, give great (for it's size) mileage, it's pretty darn reliable, and I'm satisfied with it - and that's what counts.
