Glad to see I'm not the only one that capitalizes numbers.

I FT at a KOA park in Sylmar, CA for a year or so while I was working in Canoga Park. They charged me full daily rate! OUCH! As far as activities go, there were'nt any. I don't swim or play tennis etc... so those things don't matter to me. I would make sure they have full 30 amp electric so your A/C will work well.

I bought some GILA brand window film which reflects 70% of the heat from the sun and put it on all the windows. It made a HUGE difference on both cooling and heating. Eventually I plan to buy some .060 lexan plastic to add to the inside for poor-mans double paned windows. That should help also. In the winter and the hottest parts of the summer, I put 1" styrofoam in the roof vents. Those things let $propane out in the winter and extra sun in the summer. I don't need the furnace in spring/fall at all and a 1000w electric heats it pretty well on January days.

Take your battery out and just put a surface charge on it every month or so. The charging circuit isn't very good on most of the converter systems and it will overcharge and ruin the battery in a few months. If your battery is already dead, replace it with 2 6V golf cart batteries in series. They'll run much longer if you're boondocking.

Finally, DON'T leave your black water valve open just because you're hooked up to the sewer. Leave the valve closed then dump whenever it gets full. If you leave the valve open, what happens is the liquid drains off and the solids accumulate in the tank and eventually plug things up. Not a fun job to unclog. I also bought a flexible hose-wand with a spinner on the end to clean the tank out better. You'll have to do it every 6 months or so. Use deodorizer if you like, I don't but then I'm used to it.

When I'm boondocking, I dump the black-water first then dump the grey water which cleans out the hose.

Been-there-done-that-department.

Look at Casa Grande, AZ. It's right smack between the two. There used to be an RV park for a club I used to belonng to. It's called SKP's or Escapees. It's based in Livingston, TX and they started a park in Casa Grande. It's a club for FT'rs. http://www.escapees.com/

My wife bought a city lot in Goldfield, NV where I plan to move eventually. It's about 175 mi. North of Las Vegas. I like the Gasa Grande area though and the people are nice.

Send me an email if you like and let me know where you lite and I'll look you up when I'm in the area.

I would suggest Casa Grande over Florence...I live about 30 miles or so from florence and its not much of a town..I think that you would enjoy Casa Grande..you are close nuff to shops, and stores as where florence is just a lil town and Florence Prision is there. Both would be nice, just take into consideration location of stores, hospitals, and what not. Best of luck and I am sure you will enjoy both.

I grew up in Gila Bend so you will definitely have it warm and dry. Casa Grande is about an hour from Gila Bend and back in the 70's it was a good sized town. Haven't been there since but with the population growing in that area there will definitely be a lot of things to do. March through May are probably the best months July through September the hottest and I do mean hot.

Hot? Naw it aint Hot..just a lil warm lol..i dont think 110 dry heat is hot at all..then again im used to it...you will love it no matter if you chose Casa Grande or Florence. We have beautiful weather and great summer nights and some of the best monsoon storms you will ever see. Its better than watching TV..just sit on your back porch or look at your window and watch for hours as the sky lights up..its awesome
