When I was a kid (a century ago) my dad augmented my language abilities by playing "proofread the newspaper" with me. It was a bit of work to find errors back then, though not as much as it should have been.

BTW, your avatar kills me. Big Lebowski is one of my favorite movies, and when I hear someone say Cummings, I about lose my mind. Seems to find my last nerve every time. There was an advertisement on my local classic rock station for the Dodge dealer. The DJ kept saying Cummings in it. After about 2 days of hearing that played I had to call and complain. The Dj told me he had gotten hundreds of people calling to correct him. He was leaving it as is because he got a kick out of it.

Unless the passenger asked for a cup of DD on his way to the cemetery, I think there wouldn't be any real reason to stop and leave him sitting in the car like that...
