Killer Coyotes

Any of you guys in Cali keeping up with this? Sounds like there needs to be an open season on coyotes.

Hey now! Just because this is the land of fruits and nuts doesn't mean that we are fit that category (remember, all Labs are dogs, but not all dogs are Labs). I enjoy pickin' em off as much as the next guy (maybe more). I get packs of them here on my property. Haven't tried to drag anything from my place.

They are getting thick in East Texas too. Nothing of that magnitude, but I recall as a kid hardly ever seeing or hearing a coyote, and when you did it was a rare treat. Now I have them every evening at dark behind the house. My dogs will kill them if I turn them out, but I am afraid they might get rabis or something so I stopped turning them loose.

Too bad the coyotes don't just pick on the ones that protect them. It's the ones that pass the laws restricting what can be done that create the problem as they know nothing about the animal and figure that if they are nice to them they will be nice right back.

People in several places are beginning to see that the coyotes are very crafty and resilient. They will move into any neighborhood where the food is good and the people want to help them.

Here in WA in the Seattle area they have a problem with pampered pets being invited out for dinner by the coyotes. I haven't heard anything about it for a while but people quit letting their pets out alone as the coyotes were dining quite well.

We have them around us, theres a pack of them that runs the valley. They haven't got that brazen yet, if they do I have .223's with their name written all over them. Still waiting for one to get into the chicken's fenced in area.

I did wake up to the cat and a fox having a stand off on the front porch one night. Probably the same fox I saw walking behind the house a couple months later in broad daylight, won't do that again I guarantee that.
