Neither do I. It's called the INTERNET.

I'd never even heard of such a thing until I saw this thread.

Just lookin at the pictures on the websight, they look cool but I'd shoot a dog that went after the stock like that. Ifyour dealin with wild and wooly range cattle that's one thing but take a dog like that and turn'em loose on most cattle you'll turn'em wild and wooly and never be able to handle them again without the dog.

Why do you need to be able to work with the cattle? Thats the dogs job. After the dog has been around the cattle a few times they get the message and know what to do. I can take Ralph and pick out one cow out of 50 and tell Ralph to "load'em up" and he will pick the cow from the group and run him into a trailer. What more could you ask for. You dang sure aint gonna walk up to the cow and guide him into a trailer yourself. Herding dogs make cattle and horse farms sooo much easier to work. The cows get the feat of god put in them by the dogs and then just the dogs presence is enough to kep them under control.

Well, not exactly. A whole separate breed. Looks similar to an ACD but isn't quite as stocky, a little more streamlined. Excellent stock dogs from what I understand. They do have similar roots to the ACD. Dingos were part of the foundation stock in creating both breeds which helps explain their similarity in appearance to each other. Border Collies were also used in the development of Kelpies.

In response to the original question, sorry. I wouldn't know where to look except doing an internet search for working Kelpie breeders.
