Kaboom!!!!

A truck carrying 35,000 pounds of explosives crashed in Utah yesterday and exploded.
Left a big ol' hole in the road.

Story with pic here

Yup.
I work at the TV station that touts itself as the "breaking news leader".
Always first on the scene with the helicoptor beaming the destruction into the homes.

We were on that for almost 4 hours straight yesterday, Dr Phil got preempted, the horror.

First ones at the hospital interviewing the victims as they exited.
First ones to interview the motorcycle rider that was "blown right off the bike".

I was planning on taking the kids camping this weekend, and wouldn't you know it,
my route is now a little blocked.
All routes around the blocked road take you 2-3 hours out of your way.
I guess I'll have to find a different place to go camping.

We have streaming video of the aftermath available for those interested.

Well crap! I guess that rules out my trip to moab this weekend.
That road is already among the top 10 dangerous roads in the country, now to make it worse we got explosions thrown in.

Absolutely amazing that no one was blown to bits.
Creepy about the internal damage that can happen with a blast like that. Truckers that haul stuff like that must have nerves of steel.

Can you imagine what went through those good samaritan rescuers minds when the dazed truckdriver mumbled "explosives"...!!!

Note to self:... Avoid explosives placarded semi's laying on their side BURNING!

That sucks, Tuesday night a chemical plant exploded about 3 miles from my house. That wasn't fun either.
