GUMBO? That's the crap that sticks to our shoes when we walk across the fields after it rains. Why would I wanna eat that?

Yeah, I was thinking I could slide by on our way to/from Mass with the trailer.

Mmmmm, Dumbo..... I have had dog, gator, javelina, horse, whale, seal, et cetera but no elephant. Those have gotta make good steaks.

PS: I didnt know I was eating dog at the time, I thought it was capybara. I wish our guide had not been so honest.

Mornin'.

Today is Tuesday, July 12th. (Only 165 days 'til Christmas!)

On this day in 1862 - The U.S. Congress authorized the Medal of Honor.

1864 - U.S. President Abraham Lincoln witnessed the battle where Union forces repelled Jubal Early's army on the outskirts of Washington, DC.

1933 - A minimum wage of 40 cents an hour was established in the U.S.

1941 - Moscow was bombed by the German Luftwaffe for the first time.

1954 - U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower proposed a highway modernization program, with costs to be shared by federal and state governments.

1960 - The first Etch-A-Sketch went on sale.

1982 - The last of the distinctive-looking Checker taxicabs rolled off the assembly line in Kalamazoo, MI.

2000 - Russia launched the Zvezda after two years of delays. The module was built to be the living quarters for the International Space Station (ISS.)

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Fingernails grow nearly four times faster than toenails.

Coffee's on. Ph00 is blue today... I think I used to much bowl cleaner.

Is that why the coffee tastes "funniest" at the first of the month?

You forgot to say, "breathe in breathe out".

Thanks Mark, send some of the cold this way. Good luck with everything your doing out there, it will pay off.

Thanks Bob, your kind words mean a lot to me, I appreciate it.

Happy new day to all of Ewe.

Cool here today and cloudy. 67F.
Heat is coming along with the humidity that we rarely get but are getting lots of now.

Thanks Scotty, at least it stopped raining for you for now. Unfortunately with high humidity comes big thunder boomers.

Busy at the FD and at my part time. Will be cycling into weekend shifts now, it's all good. At the final stages of the big dig build on the 35 ton wrecker we been putting together. Finishing up the wiring for all the beacons now, then a thorough once and twice over prior to the maiden voyage. I'll post up a couple pics when it done.

Have a great day folks.

Real gumbo has never met okra. Same holds true for a tomato. Campbells has no clue what they are doing.
