Nighty night

Top, you build a lot of sniper rifles out of 03 springfield actions? I'm contemplating re-militarizing a sporter for my next project. I'd also like to get an original one, but I don't want to mess up a good one for historical purposes, I'd use one already tapped for a scope, lose the sporter stock and maybe reparkerize. Thinking about a bull barrell and synthetic stock. Plus, they're too expensive anymore to go tearing a good one apart. The sporters I've seen have been going pretty cheap.

I have done mostly Mausers, the 03's are not real popular around here.

Red,
I've got a .22-250 on a '03 action that I built up 20+ years ago. Good strong action. Just rebarreled due to not being able to shoot under an inch. Went with a 9" twist for the heavier bullets. Nice thing about the long action is that I can seat my bullets out where they are supposed to be, not inside the case. It's showing lots of promise. Only have about 30 rounds through it, but it's shooting just over a half inch. 28" tube (#2 I think). Total weight with the old K10 steel tube Weaver is ~12 lbs. Many a whitetail has ended up in the freezer with it.

Good afternoon. Its a wet and soggy one out there today. Suppose to get anywhere up to 4 inches of rain today. We've been really needing the rain badly. It was a very slow and unproductive day in the shop, not alot of work going on right now. Workin on my sisters honda later tonight, she's needed brakes all summer and just now decided to have me do them. Now it needs rotors too. Got my test results from BP today, I guess I didn't make the cut, oh well. Hopefully I'll have better luck at the next thing I apply to. Gonna relax a bit and clean the garage up before my sis gets here.
