Break out the iced coffee! We just made it above -20*F for the first time in weeks! Weather reporters say it's -19*.

Sweet. Its around 30 here, still frozen from yesterdays freezing rain. I really can't stand these weather forecasters anymore. First they call for 6" of snow, then 3" and some ice, then possible 1" of ice, and then the storm hits and we get like this much ice =. not even half inch. CAN THEY BE ANY WRONGER!!!

Geeze, that and oil prices would have you believing the media was a bunch of quacks on air.

It will turn to slush, there's more than one story of people dying from it...Know of one guy, pretty much an alcoholic who kept his bottle stashed out side. He went out to get it an took a big swig of 60 below Jack an it froze his esophagus, it swelled up an he died buy his shed.
We had a big party for the 2000 millennium, was 60 below an colder, The lights were ripping that night. Your drinks would turn to slush in a couple min. People found it was easier to pour beer in a glass an then eat it with a spoon. The thing you need to do, is to let it warm a bit before you swallow.

Wink

heh I worked there as a teenager. kind of like a sears tool. not meant for reissue deuring extremes....heck it was always a balmy 52 in the caves! I HATED tennessee icy cold rain! loved Buffalo winters! go figure?

beautiful balmy no wind and dry 20 here in finger lakes area of New york state! happy work weather as we stocked up for the -15 chill headed our way for the next three days. dry is good!

having an absolute blast reading what true alaskan citizens do at their temps.
can't wait to get up there, but need to stay prudent with the budget. who knows what taxes or cuts are next with the new yawk city controlled bunch of elected pot holes.....

stay safe! stay warm, we have good food and a hot tub you are welcome to settle in (oh yeah, fixed a resistor on the old tv. works beautiful, adjusted color to digital settings. you can watch tv from the 'tub! radio shack does think i build devices though)

Heidi off to do something productive...

Id like to take a moment to recognize a hero that truly inspires me.
I go to a small school, so being well versed in maintenance and cooking, im pretty good friends with the janitors and cook. Well our cook is one of the coolest guys out there. Todd is about 25 and can cook anything, he often gives me free food, and we'll stand there all lunch and just conversate. What's cool about Todd is that he is in the United States Navy. Well after serving four years, getting out and cooking for our school, Todd has reenlisted to active duty. He left as a Captain of a Navy Boarding Team, or as he describes him "the first crazy **** that enters your boat with alot more gun then you have"

Todd is reenlisted for upto 4 years and will be headed overseas again shortly. He will be missed, and as a local hero, i wanted to throw this out to you guys. I thank you, and i thank him. HOOAH, OORAH, and HOOYAH!! SEMPER FI!!!

You got some nasty stuff up that way. Hate to tell you this, but the jaccuzzi is warming up right now for the company - - it is just starting to have some steam coming off. Should be ready in about 1/2 hour. Come on in - - more the merrier.

Had to put a new pump and motor on the pool filter today. Could not get the exact replacement any more plus different piping size - - drat - - what could have been a 1/2 hour job ended up 4 hours. And - - hate to tell you guys that are up in the slush and nasties, but I had to have a head band on to keep the sweat from running in my eyes while working on it. Need one more fitting in the morning and we will be back up and running with that. The jaccuzzi uses a different pump, thank goodness.

OK, wifey is calling for din din - - gotta go. Have fun, see ya - - -

We are finally getting a blizzard-WOO-HOO. Time to take a drive. For the members that sent it, thanks.. Iker, if you want a better forecast, check out noaa.com. I use it religiously, and they are not to shabby.
