Question I need 12 Volt Electrical Schooling

I need to know some good sources of information about automotive electrical systems. I want to understand a little more about how relays work and how and where to use them, how to make sure not overloading a circuit and how to read electrical schematics. My future bombings going to include better headlights and headlight wiring, fog lights , driving lights reverse lights and some of these options with remote switches using relays. Any online sources or books to find ?
my understanding now is very basic and prolly just enough to get me in trouble. Sure don't want to fry anything or burn up my truck !

Here's a free online Basic Electronics textbook.

http://www.owlnet.rice.edu/~elec201/...asic_elec.html

This link should tell you everything about schematic symbols.

http://www.kpsec.freeuk.com/symbol.htm

Check with your local trade school or Junior College and see if they offer any basic electronics courses.

I say do a google search (or your favorite search engine) or go the library and checkout a book on basic electronics.
