Seems like you're unable to make up your mind.

Seriously...anger management classes. You have issues that need to be addressed before your head writes a check that your body can't cash.

Well....I guess I should say I'm over the whole road rage gonna kick his butt. Now I just want his phone number so I can have my "go to guy" when I'm having a bad day! I know where you're coming from though! I took a happy pill a little while ago. I try not to listen to the voices in my head, but sometimes they have some really good ideas!

You live by me? Thats my story to a T! Drive 51.3 miles one way every day! Gotta get that vacation in I guess!

Take this as constructive criticism if you like. Like others have said, getting into it with this guy was just as bad if not worse than what he was doing from the start. You ended up escalating the situation way beyond your control (if as you say your truck hit the rev limiter). I have picked up far too many people off the freeway because of stunts like this. I dislike aggressive drivers as much (if not more) than the next guy but it is not worth getting into a urinating match because somebody cut you off or whatever. If they are that aggressive then just let them have the road. Is it really worth getting this worked up over?

Next time you think about pulling a stunt like this I want you to think of this: A few years ago we made a wreck on the interstate with two idiots racing. One of the idiots ran into a car that was driven by a mother with her infant girl in a car seat in the back seat. This idiot (trust me I want to use stronger language to describe this guy) ran her car into the front of a semi truck, which in turn ripped the car in half and killed her and the infant girl. When we arrived on scene the infant girls head was missing. Now I hope this story isn’t to strong for this site because I respect the rules that Jack and Lary have set up for us. But I also think that it is important to understand the consequences of your actions. My wife and child travel this same interstate every day and not a day goes buy that I don’t think of this call. I sure hope that they don’t meet up with you on this same stretch of road if your having a bad day. In my opinion, there is no excuse for this type of behavior. Especially when other peoples lives are being put at risk.

This is my child....

Please don't put her at risk.....There are enough idiots out there without adding one more to the mix.

Respectfully

Britt Turner

Thank you Capt.

Agreed - Avoid all idiots if possible. Just let them go and realize they arent capable of doing better. Otherwise it'll eat you up.

I should say what most others here have said while looking at a situation frame by frame and in hindsight and not in the moment when it's happening. But i'm not because I've done the same thing. Did I know better? Yes. I'm sure VZDude does too. But sometimes everything lines up right. Or is that lines up wrong? We all have our bad days.

Yes... but some of us are old enough to know better. There is still no excuse. At least not from what I've seen. Trust me, if you ever get unlucky enough to see something like this, you will never do it again.

Back in the 80's i had a toyota with bright lights flashing me. We where in a mustang. I let them by then turned on my brights (bad idea) the truck slid to a stop in front of me. 5 marines got out. We out powered them and left. 15 min later we are in a Hardes take out windo the guy pulles in to my hood! jumps out. the other guys jump out the back for the second time.then its ON. he was in my car pulled the ford key ring flat out(key still in car) then before he knew it my 9 was in his cheek! not a pretty scene. it all ended up us tring to drive away them SHOOTING at the car!Yes they hit the car. just not any of us (thank god)Sooo just let it go if you can.

Now as for safer waiting for EMS is not always the best thing. I have put on my flasher put my phone in my lap to call 911 if a cop came up.AND drove to the hospotal more than 1 time in my life...and still have a dad in this world due to my actions. not crazy driving just super super fast and as safe as possable!
passing on emergency lanes, with flasher and lights going. slowing down when needed but pushing the truck up past 100 for a bit of the ride. my dads quote was."can you PLEASE let the tire tuch the ground just a little bit" But he was haveing a heart atack and their was no one going to stop me from getting to the hospotal ASAP! the hospotal was on notice and the gurney was out side when we pulled up.NOT SLID UP. as i said SAFE and FAST as i could!32 miles 20min ride.

That said, I hate BAD drivers i drive over 100k per year in 2 or 3 diff. car/trucks and see it all the time. Anger managment did work for me!
that story will have to wait.....lets just say he owed me some cash and had only *** to pay! It got me i a bunch of truble.....and a hospotal bill to pay for HIM! ok i'm done ranting.LOL

LET IT GO!

Well said. It does put it all into perspective. I hope in the future, your story will ring in my ears when it happens.

I drive a good amount of miles myself. About 70,000 year sometimes more and sometimes less. I have seen it all. Old hat now. Don't let it get to me. Normally just chuckle inside. Worst time I had with road rage is driving sports cars. If you passed someone they always wanted to race. That got old seriously. It only took one time to get smart and just let them go. I went around a couple of slow cars on a backroad in the middle of nowhere. Next thing I know I had a Ford Mustang GT all over my tail. He got mad because I went around them at 65 MPH on a 55 MPH road I guess. I was in a 1975 Datsun 280Z that had a 83' 280ZX turbo motor and tranny in. I still have the car. Needless to say I was dumb enough to get all up in it. Running about 125-135 MPH and he is still riding my bumper. I was on a road that I drove every weekend for over 4 years. He was blinding me with his bright lights. I approached a sharpe curve and I wasn't so nice. I brake checked him in the middle of the curve at 125 MPH and it was a long sharp winding curve. Never saw him again, he stayed on the road is all I can say and I will never do that again. Last and only time I let someone get to me. Since I got married I have been nuttered and all of the sudden a little wiser.

I have been in your shoes too! But I don't brake check them like you did(naughty, naughty) because that IS road rage and if there is an accident you will get the ticket. I just tap the brakes while maintaining my speed. usually that works but if it doesn't I usually get over at my first opportunity (unless I am having a bad day then I smokem' out and then get out of their way)

Hoss, next time I'll draw pictures so you'll be able to understand what I post.

Obviously, "behind the wheel" is not the same as "behind the handle bars".

I'll explain further for said recent event, when I'm on my bike with my wife and traveling 5mph over the posted speed limit on a 4 lane divided roadway that is merging into a two lane roadway and a car is tailgating me, and has been tailgating me to the point where when I turn my head back to look and all I see is the front grill of the car appx 2 ft from the back of me, and with no where to pull over to let this moron go by, it angers me, simply for the blatant lack of due regard on the other driver. If I were alone on my bike this would have been a non issue, but since I had my best friend with me (my wife), it put my defenses in to the stratosphere. At the next traffic light, (appx 1/2 mile and still being tailgated) the intersection opens up with a right turn only lane which this motorist decides to swerve into to get in front of me when the light changes, (this is the part where I think "oh good this idiot will be gone) but not before I have the opportunity to call him on his driving, He was 45-50 yr male sipping on a beer and in a hurry to the next bar, hence the caption you quoted. Yes I got his plate #, events are happening as I speak.

I would say read between the line before you quote someone, but obviosly you can't.

Well said, last month, we had a 19yo kid speeding at over 100 mph in his Lexus on I 91, he lost, control rolled through the median and blasted head on into an ATF agent killing her instantly. It was the most gruesome recovery I have ever been involved with. We were surgically cutting the car apart to remove body parts one piece at a time, it took us over 3 hours just on her car alone.

There was a quote like that. Something like never argue with an idiot... observers might not be able to tell you apart.
