20 mile commute one way every third day. The other two days...... from the bed to the back deck to watch the wind blow through the trees

I saw that story a couple weeks ago on ABC. I felt they were looking for sympathy for the poor guy having to spend so much on fuel each day.

I drive 25.3 miles each way.

I drive about 20 miles each. But this week I started working 4 10 hour days and work the same schedule as the Mrs. I am sad that I don't get to drive the Cummins everyday now (we drive our 06 Solara ~29mpg) but I save over $130 a month, so I guess I'll survive.

Wow, you guys are making my white knuckled, steering wheel gripped, emotionally draining, hair pulling 2.76 mile trip to work a real bummer.

62 miles to work one way if I am working in Savannah. Sometimes I have to go to Charleston, S.C(2hrs 30 min.) or Columbia S.C. (3 hours). Just got a company truck back in January. Doing about 3500 to 4000 miles a month on her. I was paying 120 a week, easy, when in my truck.

Up till 3 weeks ago my commute was 6 miles a day , Now that I got moved to Corporate headquarters, I am doing 210 miles a day to the Bay area. I dont envy anyone that has to do the Altamont pass everyday..... that is one brutal run.

29 miles round trip. Short but frustrating, lots of people trying to make left turns against traffic and backing up traffic. Old town with streets that weren't designed for todays traffic.
We work a 9-80 schedule, 9 hours a day with every other Friday off,
the Friday we work is a 8 hour day, pay period ends at lunch that day
so first 4 hours go to one week to make it 40 hours and the other 40 goes to next week to make it 40.

When we were doing a contract in Phoenix, I drove about 30 miles one way, and never left town. This contract here is a real killer though. I drive a whopping 0.5 miles one way, 4 days a week. If it weren't for the pack of wild dogs that roam town, I would definately be walking.

As some of you know I'm TDY in Tampa right now. My 11 miles to work takes about 35 min in the morning-- about an hour (or worse) on the way home. Yeah, 11 miles in an hour... rowing the 5600 the whole time. I throw a small party when I get to hit 3rd gear

Back home, my commute is 10 min/ 4mi and my biggest problem is trying to get the engine up to temp on a winter day before I have to shut it down...
