Currently +15* and snowing. Nice weather.

It has been a strange winter. We had maybe close to two weeks where every night dipped down to about zero and even a few nights that left a small amount of frost on the vehicles, but this was all gone by about 7 a.m. Even the sunny days only got up to the low to mid 69's which is very low for this part of the world. The sun is quite warm, but shade gets coolish and forced me to occasionally wear a sweater more than I ever have since moving to Mexico 10 years ago.

Down here everybody is "dying" from the cold if it gets below 50F. The buildings can take the small degree of cold due to the fact that the cold never lasts long enough to cold soak anything. Water pipes for the most part are exposed and I have never heard of one freezing. Even my hose pipe which never comes inside has never frozen. No houses have central heat, but a few now use small portable propane room heaters. My house does not even have a portable heater and when it gets cold, everybody just throws on another sweater. Very few houses even have A/C as it is not required, except for at the most a total of 10 random days during the hottest summer days. My automatic lawn sprinkler system is on every night and even during the coldest part of winter, the grass grows enough to get mowed about every two to three weeks.

The vegetation does occasionally get slightly frost burned, but only the top leaves and not enough to kill anything. This winter only had one small tree in with any signs of frost burn on the crown and that is a strange one because it is right next to a similar tree that had no problems

Went off and left the iron plugged in. When I got back, stinking huskies had a hockey game going on in the living room.

34 and rain with snow tomorrow here. Warm for here again tomorrow and then back into the deep freeze on Sunday.

Roads are slick and nasty out there.

Be safe folks.

Dipped to -11 F on the way in to work today. Forecast calls for 40 at the end of the week but we have a couple days below zero until we get there. From 30 degrees below normal to 10 above normal. I'm ready for it to warm up some. The horses won't eat so much hay then.

Steady rise in temps starting tomorrow. No precipitation in the forecast either.

Colder than a Witch's Welldigger. Don't think it quite made the double digit negatives last night. Suppose to get cooler though. A thaw may be on the horizon though. They're saying the jet stream is gonna move back north.

Said when you walk back from school and comment on how it feels warm out, and its -2 according to the care, most days sitting in the freezer would be warmer then outside.

We're gettin' another "arctic blast" tomorrow. That's what the weather folks like to call strong cold fronts; "arctic blasts." Gonna be all the way down into the ..... gulp...20's.
