We are still coming out of the mini ice age of about 300 years ago. The temperature has slowly been rising since then. It's still not nearly as hot as it was (as near as they can tell) during the middle ages. Which wasn't as hot as it was a couple thousand years prior to that, either.

Hey! Lary confessed so leave me out of it.

Actually, I have mentioned this before. Working exploratory wells in the Beaufort Sea we would routinely drill through an upper layer of stuff that contained wood from semi-tropical trees that had died and been buried in muck for 10 thousand years.

Those trees don't grow so well in our current much colder climate leaving you to believe that maybe it used to be a lot warmer here.
