Good morning all y'all. Shorts, I am glad it is you not me looking for a house. As far as I am concerned, house hunting sucks and moving is even worse. For some reason my parents could never stay satisifed with the house they were in and we moved every 6 or 7 years. I know that isn't often for a military family, but for a civilian that seems like a lot. DW and I have been in our place coming on 12 years and we have no desire to move. Heck, we even got lucky when we bought it. It used to belong to some good friends of ours and we had been ther for dinner and parties 20 or 30 times. We had always told them that when it came time for them to sell, we wanted first right of refusal. One day we got the call saying they had just bought a new place and were willing to sell it to us below market value since no realtors were going to be involved but we had to decide within 48 hours. 24 hours later we signed the papers. It doesn't get much easier than that.

It is good to see people like T-Rad, Top, Scoty, NE, Shorts, JWBM, Bark 5erBob, Chaikwa and anyone else I might have missed posting. Checking in on this band of misfits is the start of my day and it is a much better start when there are 10 or 20 posts to get through.

Have an awesome day everyone, unless of course you have friggatriskadekaphobia. If you do, hunker down for the next 24 hours.

Not been a bad day for a Friday 13th. Just got back from test driving the first gen with a fiver load. Been chasing a whine/vibration for 5000 miles. Noted a 2-3 shift flare and put it in the shop to check it out. They found 2 valve body bolts in the pan, and more loose. The whine was the front pump sucking air. They put the bolts where they belong, changed the filter, put the pan back on, put the salvaged fluid back in, and it's golden.

I just got back from Montana pulling the camper and a bass boat. I had to give my guardian angel a day off.

Were you behind chiakwa? (still a little time left to pick on him before he gets back)

Ha! I finally figured it out. You are constipated and you are relying on the decrease in air pressure in the airplane to help release the gasses.

Fingers crossed for those affected by the flooding in CO and hope everybody has as good a day as possible.

Finally home. We were only gone less than a week, but it seems like a month. Met some great people tho and Michael got the 'Michigan Fire Educator of the Year' from the Michigan Fire Inspectors.

Here's a pic of Michael, Michigan Fire Marshal Rich Miller, Jake and me in the fire safety trailer.

Talk at y'all in the AM.

Got over to Husker Harvest Days yesterday. Was going to test ride 4-wheelers but they were even making people put on riding boots this year. Skipped it since I wore my sneakers.

Which was a mistake, the sole is gone in the left one. Was turning my foot sideways to walk last night. Got home and worked on the spot where the lump was in the shoe and it popped, felt a ton better. It's popped a few times today but still really sore.

Fueled in Kearney for $3.86. McCook, Cambridge, Bartley fuel is $4.06. Couldn't get across 30 to get to the truck stop at Alda so I took 30 to Kearney and stopped at Cabella's. They have some pancake and brownie mix that's real good, but expensive, so I don't get it often. When I make the pancakes I use them in place of toast with eggs. Kodiakcakes.com

Talked to the local New Holland dealer about renting a skid-steer, $600/day for a not-very-large machine. Deere dealer I talked to yesterday said they don't rent anything but that's about right. Nearly told him he's on crack, you can hire someone for a day for that. Bobcat dealer out of Kearney said I was right, they would rent me a tracked machine for another $125, for a week, or a wheel machine for $150 less, for a week.
