Hog pics

This is me and my six year old nephew. I shot these 2 feral hogs saturday evening around 5pm. 11-20-04 My cousin was hunting in a stand on the other side of the woods, and he called me and said there was a pack of hogs moving in my direction. I had to get out of my stand, and walk about 500 yds to get to the place that I thought they would be crossing. They were crossing into a 700 acre pasture that the government purchased 2 years ago. This property has turned into a hog sanctuary, and they wont let anyone hunt it. THese hogs are really taking us over. ANyway, I reached thier crossing point, and the hogs began to cross the right-a-way. I was about 30 yds. from them, and I crouched to the ground, with my nephew standing directly behind me. I rested my 22-250 on my knee, and shot 1 sow in the head as she crossed. She dropped in her tracks. I racked the bolt, and jammed another shell in just as a boar began crossing. So I drew down on him, and shot him in the head too!!! By now, my heart was trying to jump out of my chest. 2 head shots on the run,,,,in a row!! The next hog came out just after I reloaded, and he ran to the downed boar. He stopped and began to sniff him. I shot, but I missed! The only one that stopped and gave me a clean shot I missed....lol...

Well, my nephew was ecstatic. Just a few more years, and he will be doing the shooting for me. This long weekend should produce more kills, and I will try to post more pics next monday because I know we will kill some more. We have been getting soaked with rain down here. So the conditions are just perfect.
