The phone company had to hire some telephone pole installers after the last storm. Two guys from Detroit were applying, as well as two Yoopers from Escanaba. After bickering about how the Yoopers could perform better in the winter, the boss decided he would have a compettion between the two teems to see who would get hired. <br><br>&quot;Here's what we'll do. Each team will install poles out on the new highway for one day. Whoever installs the most poles will get the contract.&quot; Says the boss.<br><br>Both teams headed right out to work. At the end of the day, Mark and Bill from Detroit came in first. <br><br>&quot;So how many poles you guys get up?&quot; asked the boss.<br>They said it was tough going in the weather, but they got twelve up. Half an hour later, Darrell and Elvis, the Yoopers come in. <br>The boss, &quot;You guys sure made a day of it, how many poles are installed?&quot;<br>&quot;Three!&quot; says Elvis.<br>The boss, &quot;Three!... those two city guys got 12 put in, you were suppose to be the best!&quot;<br>Elvis, &quot;Yeah we got three, but you should see how much they left sticking out!&quot; <br><br>
