I went to Texas for Christmas/new year holiday 08/09, when we landed and departed from DFW every time a soldier exited or entered from a plane they got a standing ovation and a line up. When I first heard the applause I stood from my seat and looked to see why all the applause, then the wife and I joined the line up. Texas pride and appreciation for our troops, truly as big as their state.

Thank you for sharing that Rick!

THAT IS AWESOME!!! I was a snipe in the the Navy, a single one at that, so I'd take the watch down in the fire room for who ever I could that was married and had people waiting for them on the pier when we got home from our "4" deployments. I never saw all the whopla, but I could only imagine from the excitment on the peoples faces that did have family waiting for them on the peir. It's nice to see people like Burt Brady do that for our troops! Troops die over there everyday and it's like what ever, but that FA*** Michel Jackson dies and it's like Jesus died...
