Hulu.com is actually great to watch now when I'm bored. I won't pay for satellite tv because they kept screwing me around with bills so I went the fta route. Well now that the Nagravision 3 encryption has surfaced that's been out of the picture too unless I do a IKS solution (nope).
What's this Nagravision? I wish I could just stream in a couple news and business channels and drop the $55 cable bill.

HDMI is a digital signal going through cable. The only diffrence between a 10 cable and a 60 cable is they found some sucker who think he needs to have the best cable out there. Most reviews online are written by companies that sell high priced cables. I have a computer background and fully understood what signal they send is. And I laughed at the guy Best buy when he tried to sell me a set $60 Monster HDMI cables. Digital signal is just a series of ones and zero's. The only time you should spend extra money on a better cable would be if you are running a cable that 20ft plus.

So how can I obviously tell the difference between a monster cable and cable that is half-third it's price? Maybe I got a bad cable but it's still going strong and works fine for it's application. The picture isn't as clear and crisp and it's obvious to me.

I'm not defending spending $60 more on a Monster, I just think it's worth buying good cables to run to a high dollar TV.

If I was smart I would have researched and bought a few online at a discounted rate at one time.

A bad cable signal can be an issue. An old crappy Coax cable can real do a job on Digital cable thats for sure. When I got my new tv an upgraded I was ****** at how bad the picture was. TV looked beatiful with DVD playing but cable was just terrible even on HD stations. Changed out my old Coax cable with a nice gold plated one and it was a world of difference. I no longer had that skipping issue you can get digital cable. So if you cable tv isnt the best. Change that cable to a decent coax.

http://firefold.com is another great source for cables and brackets of all types, guy at work pointed me to them haven't had any problems yet. As for cables at the big box stores there is incredible mark up on them if you have ever worked there or used a employee discount there you know how much mark up there is on these items.

It's direct from my computer, nothing in between. I'm looking at this right now on my big screen through an HDMI cable from my laptop.

47" is much better than 14"

I am a bit of audioholic, so I am fairly well versed on the electronic overpricing as I have had my fair share of price gouging in my pursuit of electronic happiness.

HDMI cables shoul be a Minimum v1.3 or labelled "high speed" these will flow 1080p.

Best place to buy cables,
www.monoprice.com
or www.partsexpress.com

best site for used gear
www.audiogon.com
I am no way affiliated with these sites, just passing on info...

I'm not sure if I can post an Amazon link but if you search for HDMI cable you can get a 6' gold plated 1.3 whatever for $.24 yes that's cents. I bought 5 or 6 cables from this vendor about 6 months ago and a 16' HDMI for my xbox separately. Not one issue and total with shipping for the 5 or 6 was $24 and $8 for the 16'. Obviously they are making their money on shipping.

They have over 2000 reviews and a 4.5 star rating. I'm currently watching 1080i sat tv and loving my $.24 cable. It's digital, it either works or doesn't. Now analogue sound I have monster or the like.

Costco had the absolutely best deal that I found. The box has two 12 foot HDMI 500 cables made by WireLogic plus some stupid spray and cloth for big screen TV's. With coupon, they were $26 bucks. I believe they are still available on line (www.costco.com) but you would have to pay shipping. The ones I got from the store in Anchorage are perfect for me. They are very heavy duty so are not super flexable but are perfect for my use. Oh, dont want to start an argument but my brother had purchased a four foot monster cable for a lot of $. I gave him one of my cables (I only needed one). He says absolutely no difference in signal quality between his four foot cable and the twelve foot wirelogic cable I gave him.

I need to break down and get a wireless keyboard. It would be great to be able to sit in bed and surf the net. I can't even use a reg. monitor anymore after hookin up to my 42", looks too small. I sit as far back as I can with the cord only bein so long, starts hurtin the eyes after a while, lol.

HDMI being a full digital signal really doesn't need to be anything special.. as long as teh connectors are decent, wire is well insulated it doesn't matter...

No way I would spend over $30 for a HDMI cable... Gold plated super duper size of 4/0 cable makes no dang difference... Other than less $$ in your wallet!
