Having a lot of trouble pulling in the snow... tires?

I saw a small Dakota water dept. truck buried in the snow locally. It was in a lot that was unplowed with about 8" on the ground.

I pulled in the lot, and struggled to get to the truck.

Finally backed down an incline, not too steep... used a 6ft. tow strap.

Had her (it was a woman driving) put it in neutral.

4 hi, and was spinning all 4 - barely moving.

4 lo and had her put it in reverse - same amount of trouble.

I have 245/75/16 BFG Commercial E's

60PSI in them, 80PSI MAX...

Last year with my balding 285 BFG AT's I pulled everything.

Now I'm scared to try as I can't grab anything.

You need a concrete bead liner...... That'll put some weight on the tires and make them bite more.

The "e" rated tires are a harder compound than your old "ATs" They won't grab as well when they are cold.

Dropping the air pressure a little for a bigger contact patch might help. Not familiar with that model tire, but the tread pattern might also be part of the problem, is the tire siped?
