Hey now, don't get all excited about it. You're liable to have a coronary or something.

Yes, another day has passed, and another arbitrary date has occurred.

Why do I say this ?

Because I'm 56, and my wiener still thinks it's 19.

Age is irrelevant, and pretty much so are dates, but that's just me.

My wife is always..... "Do you know what today is? "

my first thoughts:

Uh... garbage day ?
another day of engineered precipitation ?
Another day of not watching the MSM ?
another day of being so dark out, so soon, I'm tired by 4:30pm ?

Then it dawns on me

Oh yeah, it must be related to her and I meeting, or getting married, or some other blip in time I've forgotten about.

Yes sir ree, folks. I'm a doo doo head again, not knowing it was the latter.

Oh honey, we met back in 1988 or was it 1989? Wasn't it in September, or maybe December ?

All I know it that it was a month that ended in '-ber"

UGH, I'm always wrong. Always at fault. Always to blame for not remembering what I'm supposed to be remembering and holding so dear to.

I guess it doesn't matter that I'm still with the same woman I've loved immensely since the first moment I looked in her eyes back in the late 1980's

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ! What would that matter ????????

Happy New Jeers, folks !

Try having that problem at 68. And your old lady is 74.
You're as old as you feel. And I feel like I'm 168.
Time is a
predator creeping up on you waiting to make the kill.
The poor thing doesn't know I'm armed!

Haha, I bet...

in all respects to your post.

So, today, I was thinking about you because I met a woman, here in the toilet of the US, who owns a house here, and needed my services. Now don't get all excited, as I'm not talking about "those services", but for making repairs to her home, which it definitely needed.

So after a few minutes, and explaining to her I wasn't the right guy for the job, we had a long talk about the house, the land, and whadda ya know? She lives in Anchorage and works at the hospital there as a nurse.

After being astonished to find out that this woman comes back and forth from there to here, all the time, that the reason she works there is because apparently, they cannot get anyone to work as a nurse in the hospitals there due to Alaska being so deserted with people (labor shortage). She works there because they pay her MULTIPLE times the going "nurse" rate, just so she stays. Her hubby is a pilot for a commercial outfit up there, so I guess it all works out.

She said the toughest part of the job is the lack of sunlight. It's brutally dark for months, and the sun that does come up doesn't rise up above the skyline. she said it comes up about 10:30am, and disappears early in the afternoon. Since I've never been there, I guess it's something that you have to get used to ? She said those folks who come there, and make the attempt to stay, leave (mostly) because of the daylight issue. I'm sure people leave for other reasons (such as she mentioned that she deals with a lot of "overdoses") but we really didn't get into it too deep.

Very cool listening to her talk about her dual life both here and there.

What do you say ? Sunlight a scarcity up there ?
