Im looking to put a small system in my truck. Ive got a 12" 600w Pioneer sub that Ill use for now, but may step up to 2 10s eventually. I dont want to spend more than $200 but may splurge up to 250. Whats a good amp for me?
Rockford Fosgate have started making really good crisp sounding amps again. (they slacked off a few years back, now they are getting back into what they do best
)
i also have a kicker in my '57 and an alpine in my dodge. But im runnin a fosgate in my '76 T/A and she sounds nice. I like the fosgates, and ill stick with them
IMO
If your 600 watt sub is rated 600 at peak power, its RMS is usually half of that. And i usually set up my systems where the peak power of the amp matches the RMS of the sub. So, imo, i would get a 300 watt peak power amp.
Of course, $200 isnt going to get a whole lot, but should get you a decent amp.
If i was you, instead of doing it twice, id decide what kinda subs you want to run in the future, then get a two channel amp that will power them and just run it un-bridged to power your current 12 inch.

Go to Woofers Etc www.woofersetc.com
they have alot of surplus and wholesale items (brand new) that are priced like ebay. that's where I got my stuff.
As said above, $200 isn't gonna get you much, especially if you want to upgrade in the future. I run Memphis audio all around with Memphis amps and a single (solid) square L5 15.
