Gasser question

My buddy has a 03 Chevy 2500hd 4x4 ext cab shortbed with the 6.0l gasser. He has a K&N intake and would like to do a throttle body spacer, but says he heard that it wont work with the K&N cold air intake. Is this true? If so why not? Also, would a mass air flow sensor help him out any? he wants to get the most he can out of it, but doesent want to throw money at something that wont help at all. Thanks for any help guys.

His mods so far are:

-Hypertech programmer
-dual exhaust
-K&N cold air intake

Tell him to save his money. File TB spacers with magnetic fuel savers, etc. If these items did work and swirled the air in the intake, it is not smooth flowing anymore, in others words it would create turbulence and hinder good airflow.

Mass air sensor would only help if the old one is gunked up from the K&N. You would see a decrease in mileage if it was gunked up, kinda like our IAT and MAP sensors in our 24V engines. I don't ever recall seeing a "performance" mass air sensor.

Hope this helps.

i don't know if they do anything though... with other performance mods they should help, but from what i hear, when the engine is stock, they do nothing for performance

It probably will not work because of how close the air filter piping is to the fan shroud.

Our Shop truck, a '99 Chevy 2500 with the 6.0L barely would fit the AFE Stage 2 intake. No way would it work with a TB Spacer.

Your best bet is an STS turbo setup.

Headers don't hold a candle to the performance gain.
