First snow!!!

Yippy!!!!!!!! We got our first snow here today. Total of about 4 inches and every school in the tri-state closed and there were wrecks everywhere. People around here can't drive, including the cops...

I woke up and the wife told me I had to take her to work because the chick she usually rides with called in because of the snow. Go figure. So we get in the cavalier and head out(I needed to fill it up with gas). The roads are slick and untreated, but as long as you are careful, you are fine. Well appearently noone was being careful. I passed at least 5 vehicles in ditches and had to turn around once because of a wreck. It took me about 40 minutes to drive what would usually be a 7 minute drive. My best sight was a cop in the ditch.

Well I got home and took some pics of the truck covered in snow:

The snow had already started to melt in the pics. It is gonna be bad tonight though, all this melting and its gonna get down to 18 tonight.

So what's your all's first snow stories for this year?

We had our first snowfall in NJ here on Sunday, but I wasn't home to go out and make some money. Had to go plowing when I got home at 1am!

Still getting our 1st one of the year here in MD. I'm dreading the commute home later today as it didn't start until most were already at work.

Had our 1st "normal amount" snow fall this year the last couple days. I am usually coming home from work around 1:30-2 in the morning so the roads are not the cleanest. Was making my way up the road I live on and the whole way was about 1 foot of snow, fresh powder though so easy to get through. Come farther up the road where there are some larger drifts(my road always drifts) and the drifts came up over my hood...then the normal spraying all over my windshield and what not. Could have went back and got pics of my "tunnel" going through the drift, but didn't

We had that same storm as megajoltman and had close to the same 8-10 inches. Problem was the rain melted the snow and flooded a whole mess of people then the winds hit the coastal areas.

I-5 has been closed since Sunday or Monday and they are not sure how long it will be closed after the floods recede as they don't know how much damage has happened to the roadbed.

Fortunately my family was not affected other than detours trying to get home Monday night. Terrible mess for a bunch of folks though.
