As it says at the top of the page,

"Diesel Truck Resources.com"
"Your Dodge Ram and Cummins Turbo Diesel Source"

Maybe the purpose of this site is to talk about DIESEL TRUCKS and not get too wrapped up in topics that (rightly or wrongly) seem to create ill feelings between people with different opinions??

I know ther are many sites where religion, politics.... are the main objective and maybe these places would be better forums than a diesel truck site for those type of discussions.

Just a thought.

That a good thought. But, The OPEN forum is open discussion of topics not related to our trucks. If it was related to our trucks, then it would go in one of the truck related sections.

THe OPEN forum used to be called the WAR ROOM. But Jack changed the name because that is exactly what it turned into.

Open forum except for politics and religion as stated in the forum description. I think that if someone puts in all of the time and effort, not to mention money to create a site like this then he/she should be allowed to make any rules they want at any time and not need to explain or justify them to anyone else for any reason.

If someone doesn’t like the rules, whatever they are, for whatever reason, they are free to not visit this site and better still they could create a better one where they can make their own rules. Personally I don't have any problem with either topic but I can understand the tension they can cause and the pressure it must put on the moderators.

Please don't take my comments the wrong way but I just think that we are lucky to have such a great site and if the people running it suddenly decided that we could no longer have discussions on peanut butter or whatever I think it's just best to not talk about peanut butter. Why question it??? If you really want to talk about peanut butter go to a site where that is a welcome topic.

I can't imagine that there is ulterior motive at work here just a simple request by the management to try and avoid all of the hassles created by those particularly controversial topics. See it even got me started!

I can't believe I'm posting this but I guess it just struck a nerve as Religion and Politics seem to do. Thats all for me.

It should be obvious that we are attempting to keep the site on track and avoid the arguments that controversial topics like politics and religion, so often erupt in.

There are many places on the Internet better suited for such discussions that specialize in these categories, providing you the opportunity to voice your opinions daily.

By limiting the number of these types of threads here at DTR, we can keep it a friendlier place for everyone, eliminating the chances for argument and bad feelings to erupt, from differing views on matters not pertaining to diesel powered trucks.

We all have our own opinions on these subjects and rightfully so, our intent is only to keep things from getting out of hand.

Since this thread has migrated way off the original topic, that being a nice clean previously muddy truck.

I'm going to attempt my first lock.

See if the keys Top gave me actually work.

That being said, Happy Easter y'all.
