Eulogy for old truck
Eulogy for old truck
Sold my 1991 Mazda today. Had it since new, was affordable and easy to finance for a recently graduated student. Never thrilled about it; nothing wrong with it, just unexciting. 208K on the clock and was running when it left today. I won't mention it's maintenance 'cause I'd probably be banned from the board for such horrifics.
Never thought much about it, just went to work in it. And got married and went on our honeymoon in it, our self-built canoe on top. Used it to find our house. Drove wife in labor to hospital, brought child home. First vacation as a couple. It was there when, after 5 years of trying, a friend and I finally killed a wild pig. Plus, numerous canoe, camping, fishing, hunting trips. And, getting nearer the end of it's life than the start, sent it off for the few dollars it was still worth.
And never thought much about it.

Hope the Dodge does as well.

Rob

Actually BB, it sounds like you and your Mazda had long and joyful memories together. I have equally somber thoughts about an ol' 74 K5 Blazer. Lotta great memories. Women will never understand this but thanks for sharing your eulogy.

~Dave
Re:Eulogy for old truck
Yeah, I had some really fond memories in my old '93 Ranger before I traded it 7 years later for a '00 2500. Didn't keep that long enough to have any memories. The '02 3500 is giving some good ones though! ;D Thanks for sharing yours!

Tony
