My kids did well learning how to work but it just seems that for every hard working kid, there are 2 more that don’t want to work and think the govt should support them.

I don’t know exactly when it happened but it never was too cold to go outside and do stuff even at -40. Now, I don’t feel like going out to do things when its below +10. I am either getting older or wiser--not sure which.

Mornin' All! It's a crispy -42*F this mornin' Coldest it's been so far. Brakes and clutch hydraulics are getting MIGHTY stiff.

Long night last night. Got home to a cold house. Outa fuel again. Getting a bulk delivery today. Helped a co worker move last night. She had a lot of stuff. We didn't finish but we got a good start. Even at -48* (we were in a cold spot) I was sweating through the hoodie I was wearing.

Called it quits around 2300. 0430 came early. Need some good for the day. Of course I started it off with a rockstar......And I got a NOS for later.

Man thats FREEZIN'. I heard its supposed to get colder still? that sucks. Hows the truck do in those temps?

Morning Gang. New Year is ahead of us. Got some stuff to get done today, but the 40Mph winds with 50Mph gusts, and snow falling are hindering that. Well, time to go stock the wood stove. gonna need it.

Yes they are predicting -60* or colder this weekend depending on which weather guesser you listen to.

Truck runs good. Sitting plugged in all through my 12 hr shift she'll light off on about the 3rd or 4th cyl to hit compression instead of the first. I don't have to worry too much about EGTs. Brakes and Hydraulics (clutch)get real stiff. Gotta park with the t-case in 4WD or the front end won't want to move after sitting all day at work. I don't get much cab heat until after 10 miles or so down the highway. After it drops below -20* and stays for a while I'll pull the fan. I've had the radiator blocked off since October. Even after getting up to temp (185* at best) idiling for 5 min will drop coolant temp to 150-155* or so esspecially with the blower motor on turbo(aka: Jim Lane heater Relays) I don't worry about taking her out in the cold. She's reliable.

That said, Today is my friday and I will probly just drive Mama's car for the next week if it stays this cold. I'll just take her to work and then put the car back in the garage. Much easier on everything.

I used to have this old '80 D-150 that would have a front tire get low at any temp below-20*. Not flat just low. In the cold temps the tire wouldn' start rolling for almost 1/2mile cause the wheel bearing grease and low tire wouldn't let it turn.

Good afternoon DTR.

Put a new belt on my truck this morning and messed around in the garage for a while. Going to dinner with some friends tonight that are in town from Houston.

Down Here We Put Up Hoop Buldings For Green Houses - Use Two Layers Of Plastic And On The Inside Layer Put A Fan To Inflate Air In Between The Layers . The Idea Is Air Insulates & The Fan Keeping It Shaking A Bit And Snow Fals Off -keeping It From Building Up - That Might Work Up There
