Here's your history;
On this day in 1715 - The first lighthouse in America was authorized for construction at Little Brewster Island, Massachusetts.
1827 - The first swimming school in the U.S. opened in Boston, MA.
1877 - The first municipal railroad passenger service began in Cincinnati, Ohio.
1914 - Austria-Hungary issued an ultimatum to Serbia following the killing of Archduke Francis Ferdinand by a Serb assassin. The dispute led to World War I.
938 - The first federal game preserve was approved by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The area was 2,000 acres in Utah.
1945 - The first passenger train observation car was placed in service by the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad.
1954 - A law is passed that states that "The Secretary of the Navy is authorized to repair, equip, and restore the United States Ship Constitution, as far as may be practicable, to her original appearance, but not for active service, and thereafter to maintain the United States Ship Constitution at Boston, Massachusetts."
1958 - The submarine Nautilus departed from Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, under orders to conduct "Operation Sunshine." The mission was to be the first vessel to cross the north pole by ship. The Nautils achieved the goal on August 3, 1958.

Still have 2 hours to shift change. Draggin hard......
Gonna be hot out again today. Pushing 80* probly. There's a new fire 27 miles south of town really putting out some smoke. Making it look foggy outside. Somewhere around 30,000 acres and growing. Morning Sit Rep isn't due out for another 4 hours or so but there is somewhere over a million acres on fire in the state now. Maybe the winds will switch around and come out of the north and clear all the smoke outta here. There isn any real persipitation in the forcast for at least another week.

Hat - - I am petitioning for you to be canned as a moderator. Anyone who would post disgusting pictures like that in our snack room should be shot. It made me go raid the refrig - - - and I couldn't find anything like that in there. Disgusting, man - - shame all over you. See, a good moderator would have never allowed such pictures to be passed knowing they were going on the site and make everyone jealous. We are one big happy family and you just screwed it all up.

Mornin, DTR. Had a nice lesurly morning, bout to go on a little road trip to drop the kids off with their grandparents. We're gonna have a weekend without them, oh the joys! More time for the DTR! (as the wife smacks me...

Afternoon to everybody, even the folks I can't see hiding in the grass.
I dropped two of the casings at the cap shop today. I must have caught the guy at the right time because he only charged me $200 for the pair.
I'm going to dig up a couple rims and mount the others and run them for a bit before I cap them. No more than I'm running that truck right now 2/32's will carry me at least a year.
