I think I have the repair completed as long as there isn't a second problem and my soldering holds. I've got to go by Sears and get an O-ring for my map gas torch, it's cracked so I had to use the propane torch.

It probably only has 1 1/2 microphones.

The water is back on and it looks like it might hold.

'Bumfuzzled'... If I had said that, I'd be getting my hand spanked now!

Glad you got the repair done Rick. I hate doing that kind of thing, especially inside. It's bad enough when we have a line break underground, but at least I don't have to worry about burning the house down! Everything here in the office/shop is cpvc plastic and exposed so if something DID break, it wouldn't be in a wall somewhere. We have to drain the shop lines at night tho. It gets into the upper 20's sometimes in there.

Weather guy just said that northern Louisiana could get a substantial snowstorm Thursday.

Evening all.

Scott, if you ever need to replace sections, the pex (same as what you gave me from the infloor system) is great stuff. You can run sweeping turns to avoid elbows and maintain better pressure. I'm slowly phasing out my copper and pvc lines. Out of here at 7, keep your phone on, I'll give you a call after I gas up.

I've got to replace my supply line in the spring. If I can find a deal and have the funds I'll pull out the copper coming through the garage when I replace the supply line and change it all to pex.

They still can't make up their minds about what's going to happen here. The local stations are calling for 1-3 inches of snow. The weather channel says freezing rain, maybe snow. They all agree it's going to be cold but they can't agree on how cold.

Hmm, crawfish and gumbo popcicles.

Evening everyone.

Was 20* here today and no snow, first day we didn't have some kind of snow in about a week. Suppose to get some thursday night. Gonna stay in the 20's and teens for a couple days, Saturday night they said the temps will be just above 0*. Probably be a 1/2*F!

Rick, I saw earlier that you had a frozen and then busted pipe. Did you get everything fixed?

Claude, I saw you guys had posted some comments. I'm too lazy and tired to go back and read them. Only part I remember seeing was Chaikwa telling Rick not to use a torch.

Speaking of frozen pipes, during the winter I keep the garage at a steady 45* when I'm not working in it. Heater doesn't have to kick on too often, garage is fairly insulated.
