Re:Downloading Music from the internet

The company that pays my wages, Verizon Communications, has been fighting a court order to reveal names and addresses of subscribers who have downloaded music from some of these sites.

Just something to think about. [undecided]

Right or wrong, the RIAA is not going to stop this kind of thing. There will always be newsgroups and small p2p sharing going on. And the sad thing is that they did it to themselves, like jfpointer said. If I could buy a CD for $9.99 again, I might consider it, but for $15.99, I just can't afford that and BOMBing my truck! Thank goodness I don't like much new music anyway! ;D

I recently picked up for a song (no pun) a once very expensive turntable so I can play my long abandoned, but imaculate vinyl from the 60's, and 70's. The difference is amazing; so pure and warm. But, I digress from the subject...sorry.
[/quote]

Good point. Regardless of the sampling rate, a digital representation of an analog wave form is never going to be quite exactly right. I've got quite a few LPs and a pretty good but not over-the-top turntable to play them on. What I really need is a Discwasher to clean the darn things so I'm not listening to the dirt instead of the music.
