Door Lettering

I just purchased a dump truck, and it has the previous owners name Painted on the door. How do I remove their name without damaging the paint on the truck? I know I can use compound and a buffer, but I'm afraid I'll remove the paint on the truck. TIA Joe

Try Easy-off oven cleaner. Heard many people swear by it not at it.

Try a 3M eraser wheel like all the guys use to debadge their trucks. I used one to get some stick stuff off my old chevy and it seemed to work really well.

Well, easy off worked pretty good, one door was cheaply repainted and it lifted the paint and left alot of lettering and the other side it removed about 85% of the lettering.I should be able to buff the rest off,and repaint the other door! Oh well!!

I used acetone to take off my baddges and dealer stickers and the paint is still on my truck.
Just pour some acetone onto a rag then strart rubbing.
