I'll be going to school in Ohio in the fall, just wondering if Ohio had inpections. Dont want to have to put muffler and cats back on after removing them.

If you aren't registering your truck in Ohio, it won't matter. but here is the address for e-check: http://www.ohioecheck.org

We lived in Ohio for 22 years - left there in 1997. Unless things have changed, Ohio has random vehicle inspections. They will have a roadside inspection operation set up and flag certain vehicles in for inspection on a random basis as they approach. If you pass, you get a sticker that exempts you from any further inspections for a year. If you don't, you get a citation that gives you a week (IIRC) to get the deficiencies corrected.

In the 22 years that we were there, I probably had half a dozen vehicles inspected at the side of the road between Mount Vernon and Columbus.

It depends where you get stopped ... I was stopped yesterday morning at 2am outside of Plain City. The nice officer complimented me on the truck after checking out the 5" stacks and said have a safe trip home. I was also cited for being over the post speed limit awhile back and the Columbus cop/kid-on-a-high-horse claimed that my exhaust was "not even close to stock and he could write me up on so many accounts". I have no cats, mufflers or resonators, just 5" straight.

My buddy's Dmax was stopped down by Athens about a year ago and they only checked his lights without looking for his missing cat and muffler and gave him an exempt sticker good for 2 years. I don't think that Lima has E-Check, but I'd visit the website to make sure.
