Hohn, I could not agree with you more. Well said. It makes me sick as well, and that is why I hate this time of year. This thread is the first time I've heard the words "Jesus Christ" since the start of the holiday season, and everyone talking about Christmas.

I don't understand why people want to be so vicious about things. Just so they can save a few dollars. Don't get me wrong all of us would like to save some money. But would it be worth it if you got trampled on? You know I feel so sorry for the people that got knocked down and trampled on.There is an old saying: Don't ever underestimate stupid people in large groups.

Know what I did yesterday for all of those fantastic sales....I went to work. I had one of the nicest days where no users complained they couldn't log on to the LAN or surf the net.

Why??? Because they were all out shopping and fighting the crowds. Me, I had a nice relaxing day and got some stuff done.

This is why I get all my shopping done by the end of October.

Sad state of affairs to say the least.

My way is simple

my christmas shopping was done before thanksgivin.. gifts are stashed in my employment place... to heck with all these people that are doing all this damage, u guys think YOU have it bad? We have the real interesting folk from across the border in mexico come and screw us all over here, Id rather be doin somethin else than puttin up with morons at the mall, or other people trying to pay for stuff..

Heck look at that x box deal, they are goin for the THOUSANDS on ebay!!! what's up with that???? dude, id rather be uptight this time of year about this stuff, and i thank god after todays fiasco just gettin around that i have my idiot bashers front and rear.. cause even today, drivin around was murder, yesterday was worse.. me? i was at work, and what was usually a 15 min drive, took 45....

I agree HOHN!

some of my relatives get into the 5am shopping frenzy and it was funny to hear one of them say, "you know, you never hear how much someone spends, you only hear how much they have saved." and i couldnt agree more, just because you saved doesnt mean you still can afford it!

im interested to see what will happen in the next few years. will the government step in? after all, my safety is in jeopardy...similiar to how "group A" feels their safety is in jeopardy as a result of "group B" being able to pack heat. hoping this comment wont turn this thread into something else.

my dad's side shops after christmas...all the good deals are right after christmas and no freaks in sight or lines to wait in.

I honestly agree with the fact that Christmas is more about presents than the religious holiday it is. Don't get me wrong presents are good ...but its not the point.

About a year ago... at a local 'Canadian Tire' store they were having their annual 2 or 3 day blowout which they had just this past weekend actually... Anyhow, it does get pretty crazy in those stores even if we do live in a small town. This particular lady was buying a pressure washer and this man decided he wanted it more than her so it ended up in a fist fight if I remember right. Needless to say so me people are greedy and in this case downright pathetic... it makes me sick.

I for one joined the rest of my redneck brotheren in the woods Thursday morning, then joined them again on Friday morning. My loving wife done most of the cooking, I showed up in time to wash the doe urine off my hands and drop a turkey in a pot of boiling oil for about an hour and a half.
Friday, after I got back from the woods (still reaking of doe urine and cover scent) I went to Lowes for a ladder. I got quick convient service (I think they were trying to get rid of me actually) and didn't have anyone trying to crowd in around me for something. The only traffic problems I had was leaving Lowes since Kohls is in a nearby stripmall. All in All, if your going to shop on a black friday, dress in cammo and orange and smell like a deers butt, it works.

So here is the question that started a heated family discussion at TG dinner. I posed the question of " Since a majority ruled there should be no Ten Commandments on schools and public buildings and "Under God is removed from the pledge and there is a strong movement to take "In God we trust " off the dollar bill, do these people do the made rush to buy Christmas gifts? Why would they bother since they don't believe in God??? Plus since they reperesent a majority why are there so many people out there acting crazy??? I would think these would stay home and watch football. As I noted most of these people are 2 faced so they double the size of the crowd.
It was a lively conversation that only resulted in one dented waste basket.

A faulty premise produces a faulty conclusion. What "majority" has made such a ruling? The majority of the electorate? I don't think so!

I agree with most of what has been said here, but I still like being blessed enough to be able to buy gifts for my loved ones. That being said, we got ALL of our Christmas shopping done before Thanksgiving. The only exception to that is a few small things that I'm going to get for my wife this weekend when she's out of town. We also bought many of our gifts online this year. Not only can you find it cheaper, but a nice man dressed in brown will bring it right to your front door and hand it to you.

I have never liked crowds, and the stores this time of year are pathetic.
The Boss is getting her gift from TSC( new headstall and breast collar)!! the kids say they woud rather have money or one of those prepaid Visa cards so they can get themselves something, I didnt like that idea at first, seemed kinda like" I didnt care enough to make an effort for you" but after seeing how they use it both for things they truley need as well as for "fun" things, I've gotten more sold on the idea.

So now they get one or two packages under the tree, but they get a prepayed Credit Card worth a couple hundred that they can use as they want, whether it gas for the car, or new clothes( which I am banned from ever buying for the girls or the BOSS, they dont like my taste!!!!!)
I dont have to deal with the insanity at the local mall
