I never did. Why does it look like the devil? It looks like a bighorn ram flexing it's bicep to me. I think the fairy tales depicted satan as having billy goat horns and not ram sheep horns but I don't know for sure as I don't pay too much attention to that sort of thing.

Well since this thread is all about symbols and what they mean. I was just asking, since you say it is a ram flexing his muscles, fine but I have never seen one do that except when used to depict satan. I wonder if there is some sub conscious factors that would have a religious guy like you use such a symbol to depict himself.

I have never seen a ram used to depict satan. Please don't refer to me as religious. That is really an insult these days as religon can mean anything. I prefer born again beliver or Christian even. I guess I never really thought about it "depicting myself". I just thought a ram flexing it's muscle with a cummins logo would be cool to use as an avatar on a site that revels in the ram and cummins marriage as I do. I do believe in satan but I give him no credit for he is the one who committed the original sin and got us into the mess we're in today. I take no fancy to that at all.

In the middle ages Satan was often depicted riding a goat.

This also ties in with the "goat worship" Freemasons are so often associated with.... all false.

I realize that he was depicted as a goat. Clearly you guys can see my avatar is not a goat but a ram. Completely different animal. I guess I don't see what you guys mean?

Here's a little help on the matter.

I was just stating that incase you were not aware of the Satan/Goat relation. I misread your comment about how he was never depicted as a ram.

I in no way was trying to say your avatar was otherwise and I can clearly see its a Ram.

This was my original post to his question about my avatar. I'm well aware that satan has been depicted as a goat throughout history.

Well I have heard a first today. To be called religious is an insult. I'll have to think about that some.

As for the image having satan referred to as a horned beast and seen images depicted with many different styles of horns I can not say which is more appropriate.

I don't think you are the one to make the call on which is more appropriate or not. Histroy has already beat you to it. He has been depicted as a goat pure and simple. Think about all of the blood offerings and sacrifices over the coarse of our history. They have not been sheep but goats and various other animals but none more popular than goats. Why I have no idea but there must be something to it. That being said, there are a lot of varieties of goats worldwide each being used to their own witty artist's rendering but still goats nonetheless.

Did some research as you knew I would. Your answer is in MATTHEW 25:31-46.

You can't believe everything you see on the internet, that's how World War I got started.

There you go, sheep are good goats are bad. Nice find Andy. Thanks. I thought I might have to change my avatar for a minute if that's what people were thinking.

Well it did cross my mind but most on here think I am a little warped so that may be why I see things differently.

Everyone will just have to be careful calling Obama voters sheep now.
